Leeward Mattress ad: Leeward Mattress

Ask any experienced boat owner, the best upgrade you can make isn’t what you think. Twenty five years ago, I walked into a boat show in the Northeast and noticed something surprising. The best upgrade people were making to their boats weren't electronics, sails, or engines… it was their mattress. With a better mattress, they slept through the night, woke up clear minded, well rested, without aches and pains, and actually enjoyed being on their boat. But, the more I looked, the more I realized something didn’t add up. Even the “upgraded” mattresses people were buying… weren’t that good. Better than stock foam? Sure. But they still: - Weren't comfortable - Trapped moisture in humid marine environments - Weren’t mold or mildew resistant - Sagged and wore out quickly - And never really felt like a proper bed That’s when it clicked: If a mediocre upgrade made this big of a difference… what would happen if we built it right? We took everything we’ve learned from decades of mattress-making at Portland Mattress Makers and built something specifically for boats. - Two firmness options to match how you sleep - Three thickness levels to maximize your space - Five custom options for cut outs and beveled edges and hinges - True custom fit using a simple place-and-trace kit - Latex materials that resist moisture, mold, and sagging - Breathable construction for humid environments - Hinged and split designs to fit through tight spaces No shortcuts. No compromises. That’s how Leeward Mattress started. Today, we’ve made thousands of custom mattresses for boats all over the country, for people who want something that actually fits, actually lasts, and actually feels good to sleep on. Every Leeward mattress is: Handcrafted in the USA, Backed by an 8-year warranty, Delivered free in about 3–5 weeks. And if it doesn’t fit perfectly, we’ll remake it at no charge.
