14 months. Same client. A completely different hair story. When we first started working together, she was caught in the cycle many women know too well. Her hair would turn brassy, so she would add more ash. The ash would fade, the warmth would come back, and the cycle would repeat. At the same time, she was experiencing hair loss and wanted a gentler approach. The reason this happens is simple. Synthetic colours don’t just add colour. They oxidise and disrupt your natural pigment. When trying to create cooler or ash tones, you often end up creating the very brassiness you’re trying to avoid. With plant colour, we work differently. We only deposit pigment. We do not lift, oxidise or shift the natural base. In her case, her natural hair is already beautifully cool. The goal wasn’t to fight it. The goal was to work with it. On her regrowth, I used Chamomile to softly stain her white hairs into a golden blonde, allowing them to blend seamlessly into her natural colour. On the previously coloured lengths, I combined Chamomile with Blueberry to gradually neutralise the old brassiness left behind from synthetic colour. Month after month, appointment after appointment, her hair renewed itself. No harsh correction. No endless battle against warmth. No compromising scalp comfort.
