As a family of Austrian watchmakers, we have spent over 25 years crafting the design of this solid brass and steel equatorial ring pocket sundial in the same purpose-built factory near Graz in Austria. It not only tells the true solar time with surprising accuracy estimated by experts to be consistently better than +/- 10 minutes, but also meets the official international sizing standard for pocket watches at just 60mm in diameter - a fact of which our family is incredibly proud! Actually, our sundial is a contemporary take on a historical model - and the original can be found at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London. It tells the true solar time anywhere in the world because the Sun's angle to the equatorial plane takes different values over the course of the year, and the small hole mask in the centre of the sundial is adjustable, plus set to the date. Further, once setup, the sundial is a model of our planet too with the bridge parallel to the earth's axis, and it can thus be used as a precise compass - making a truly versatile instrument. Only one batch is produced each year, with every third sundial fully disassembled and checked to ensure quality.
