Meta’s own Ad Library API is gated and limited. AdLibrarySpy offers a free MCP server and public JSON endpoints so AI agents and developers can query Meta ads and store data programmatically — something none of the paid ad spy tools offer free. Here’s how to use it.

The free MCP server (for AI assistants)

Point any MCP-compatible assistant at the hosted endpoint https://adlibraryspy.com/api/mcp (OAuth, tied to your free workspace), or run it locally with npx -y adlibraryspy-mcp. Tools include: search shops, search products, search ads, get a shop or ad, find similar shops, creative breakdown, lookup and inspect a store, the weekly report and brandtracker.

Public JSON endpoints (no key)

  • https://adlibraryspy.com/api/public/store?domain={domain} — a store’s traffic, products, tech and live ads.
  • https://adlibraryspy.com/api/public/weekly — the weekly winning-stores report as JSON.

Questions

Is there a free API for Facebook ad data?
Meta’s own Ad Library API exists but is gated (identity confirmation, limited to certain ad categories, rate-limited). AdLibrarySpy offers a free hosted MCP server and public JSON endpoints for Meta ad and store data — none of the paid ad spy tools offer a free API or MCP.
What can the AdLibrarySpy API do?
The hosted MCP server exposes tools to search shops, products and ads, get a shop or an ad, find similar shops, break down a creative, and read the weekly report and brandtracker. Public JSON endpoints return a store card and the weekly report without a key.
How do AI assistants use it?
Point an MCP-compatible assistant (Claude, ChatGPT and others) at the hosted MCP endpoint, or run the local server with npx. The assistant can then search and read Meta ads and store data on your behalf, free.
Do I need an API key?
The public JSON endpoints need no key. The hosted MCP uses OAuth tied to your free workspace; there are fair-use rate limits so it stays free for everyone.
